Early Spring

Vermont Fish and Wildlife is asking drivers to slow down and be cautious when traveling at night in early spring or to take alternate routes to avoid driving roads near wetlands and ponds that salamanders and frogs cross during breeding season.

Ethan Allen Homestead Museum off of Burlington’s Beltline presents “Masonry in Early Vermont” with historian Robert Grandchamp at 2pm. He will discuss the difference masonry made for the early settlers in Vermont. The program is free, but donations are appreciated.

UVM professor Luis Vivanco and the Winooski Historical Society present “Bicycling in Vermont 1880-1920” from 2pm to 3:30pm at the Winooski Senior Center, 123 Barlow Street.

VFW Post 6687, 73 Pearl Street in Essex Junction is hosting a breakfast from 8:30am to 11am. The Public is invited.

Thursday, April 25th

A “Take Back the Night” event is happening at the Royal Tyler Theater at the University of Vermont, 116 University Place in Burlington beginning at 2pm. Join the march from UVM to a rally at City Hall.

Saturday, April 27th

There is a free showing of SUNY Plattsburgh senior Cole Kachejian’s film, “Paused: A Cancer Documentary” from 4:30pm to 6:30pm at Yokum Hall, room 200,

VFW Post 6687, 73 Pearl Street in Essex Junction has Karaoke with Kyle Stevens from 7pm to 10pm. The public is invited.

Sunday, May 5th

The 35th annual COTS Walk to raise money for services and support for people who are homeless takes place at Battery Park in Burlington. Walk or volunteer. Learn more at www.cotsonline.org

Ongoing: The American Red Cross is always looking for blood donations—accepting donors at the Blood Donation Center at 32 North Prospect Street in Burlington 365 days a year, and conducting Blood Drives on both sides of Lake Champlain throughout the year.  For more information, or to locate a blood drive in your community, visit RedCrossBlood.org.
