Vermont Fish and Wildlife is urging the public to help turtles on the roadway this spring. Female turtles are looking for places to lay their eggs and each year many are killed by motor vehicles especially near ponds, rivers and wetlands. Most can be picked up and be carried across the road to safety. Turtles must be at least 10 years old before they reproduce. Snapper turtles (with long necks) are large and lack colorful lines, spots or other markings and do bite. They can be moved on cardboard or by using a shovel. When helping the turtles, make sure you place them in the direction they were heading

The 17th annual North Hudon Car Show takes place at 80 Frontier Town Road in North Hudson, New York from 9am to 2pm. All proceeds benefit the North Hudson Volunteer Fire Department. Entry fee is $10 for car entries. There will be food trucks, raffles and music.

Vermont Fish and Wildlife presents a Free Fishing Day throughout the state and the family-friendly Fish Festival in Grand Isle from 9am to 3pm. The day also kicks off the Vermont bass fishing season.
