Elton John returned to the concert stage at Rock in Rio 2026, delivering a career-spanning performance in Brazil more than three years after completing his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
During the September 7 festival appearance, John explained that he accepted the invitation in part because Brazil had not been included on his final global tour. The show became both a rare post-farewell performance and a chance to reconnect with longtime Brazilian fans.
His set ran for more than two hours and included some of the best-known songs from his catalog. Tiny Dancer, Rocket Man, Candle in the Wind, Crocodile Rock, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Your Song were among the selections performed during the night.
John also included Skyline Pigeon, a song that has developed a particularly strong following in Brazil over the years.
The concert reflected the singer’s long relationship with audiences in the country while giving fans another opportunity to see him perform many of the songs that defined his decades-long career.
