Mitski has released a new music video for If I Leave to mark the arrival of her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About To Happen To Me. The video’s credits name Jared Hogan as director, and it places Mitski and her band inside a worn, eerie house with peeling wallpaper and dim rooms as they perform.
Nothing’s About To Happen To Me follows 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We. Last October, Mitski surprise-released a live album tied to the premiere of her concert film, Mitski: The Land, directed by Grant James and shot across three 2024 shows at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre with a seven piece band. On February 25, she returned to late night television for the first time since 2022, performing I’ll Change For You on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert during its farewell season. Tour plans shared for later this year include dates across North America, Europe, and Asia, with multi night stops in New York, Los Angeles, and Sydney.
